Construction is underway for a Memory Support Household at Walnut Hills.

Crews began work on the first phase of the project in early July. Initial steps included the construction of a private entrance to the Household and screened porch and patio area. The Memory Support unit will be located in one of the four wings at the Retirement Home.

The Household will provide Assisted Living care for 12 individuals with early and mid-stages of Alzheimer's disease or related dementia.

The Household will feature a secure homelike setting, organized around a Country Kitchen and a Great Room. Programming will be based on a social model and will aim at maximizing the personal success of each individual living in the Household.

The Memory Support Household is expected to open in early 2008
